“ You’ve got to push yourself harder. You’ve got to start looking for pictures nobody else could take. You’ve got to take the tools you have and probe deeper."
William Albert Allard

At the end of the year I always like to go through and see pictures people have sent me of myself taking pictures. Sometimes they're pretty cool and sometimes I hope the outside world will never see them. :)
End of the year posts are one of my favorite things about a new year.
Seeing all my favorite photographers show their favorite shots and what they do behind the scenes.
Although there are times when I'm glad no one was there to capture my clumsiness.

Like the time when I was taking senior pictures and the light was AMAZING!
To get the picture JUST right I put one foot on steep short incline.
A gravel incline that led to a empty ditch.
I needed to be just a LITTLE bit lower, so I moved my foot a little bit more. The next thing I know I'm starting to slide towards the bottom of the ditch.
The photographer side of me quickly kicked in and I took two or three pictures before reaching the bottom. A few minutes later I was out of the ditch and taking pictures again...
...After we had a good hard laugh.

It's times like those when I'm glad no one else was around.
And so without further adieu, here is what I look like behind the scenes.

Truth be told...
sometimes I have short people problems and can't get my camera high enough.
So I either hold my camera up higher, jump or stand on things.

Usually I just stand on things.

"To me, photography is an art of observation. It’s about finding something interesting an ordinary place… I’ve found it has little to do with the things you see and everything to do with the way you see them. "
– Elliott Erwitt
